The untold story of the witches of Oz, features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Academy Award winner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman ("My So Called Life," "Once And Again" and "thirtysomething"), and is based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire. Recommended age for children is 8 and up. No children under 4 admitted.

The Gershwin Theatre is owned by the Nederlander Organization. When it opened in 1972 it was the first new Broadway theatre in 40 years. Theater seats 1933. As one of the Great White Way Broadway Theaters, this theater is located in the famous Broadway Theater District 10 block strip of Manhattan (from 53rd to 42nd streets,between 6th and 8th Aves) home to over 40 theaters.
