Hotel Description:
Opened in 2004, the contemporary Alex hotel in Midtown Manhattan stands close to Grand Central Station, United Nations and tiny shops of Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue. What's more, guests will enjoy being close to Times Square, the Theater District, and quick subway rides to SoHo, Tribeca and Wall Street. A mile away, Central Park's verdant woodlands, waterways, gardens, meadows and ravines offer plenty of opportunities for walking, biking, jogging, skating, boating and bird watching. This Manhattan hotel also stands 12 miles from LaGuardia and 17 miles from JFK International airports.
The hotel's specially designed interior is an Asian inspired cacophony of orchids, bamboo gardens and votive candles. Spacious by New York standards, Alex guestrooms are appointed with innovative, contemporary designs and furnishings, including soft velour curtains, Italian Frette linen, tiny vases of fresh orchids and Sharp Aquos flat screen TVs in every bedroom, living room and bathroom. Rooms also include high speed Internet access, stereo systems, minibars, limestone baths, rain showerheads and Frederic Fekkai bath amenities. Meanwhile, suites are decked out with Poggen Pohl kitchens with SubZero refrigerators, Advantium ovens, Gaggenau Counter cook tops and Miele dishwashers.
